The Church of Pentecost Youth Director calls for digital champions
Apostle Ebenezer Hagan, Youth Director of The Church of Pentecost, has called on young Christians to aspire to become digital champions, revealing that the digital space has become a new frontier for ministry.
He emphasized that the digital space offers immense potential for Kingdom impact, and God is inviting believers to join Him in this realm.
During the Digital Champions Summit 2024, a training event for digital missionaries, Apostle Hagan defined a digital champion as someone who is proficient in technology, but most importantly, a strong Christian. These individuals understand their role as vessels through which God can bring transformation to the digital world.
He acknowledged the challenges posed by the digital space, such as misinformation, cyberbullying, and mental health issues, but assured young Christians that their familiarity with technology equips them to navigate these challenges. He encouraged them to leverage their technical skills and platforms for ministry, turning challenges into opportunities for evangelism.
Digital World Is New Evangelism Space
Apostle Hagan highlighted the power of social media for outreach, discipleship, and spreading the Gospel. He encouraged young Christians to engage in blogging, podcasting, and content creation, but emphasized the importance of spiritual maturity in addition to technical knowledge.
He advised developing a strong prayer life, immersing oneself in the word of God, and ensuring that online content reflects Christian values.
He also stressed the need to acquire digital skills such as content creation, social media management, and even coding. By being innovative in their approach, young Christians can effectively use digital tools to engage the world while remaining aligned with the teachings of Christ,’ he stated.
