One victim has died and several properties have been destroyed in a devastating fire at Atonsu Bokuro in the Asokwa Municipality of the Ashanti Region. The fire reportedly started around 8 am on Monday, November 18, 2024, while the victim, a 17-year-old boy was asleep.
The blaze also spread through nine rooms in the house, reducing several items to ashes. According to the Asokwa Municipal Commander of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the rescue team faced significant challenges while accessing the building.
However, he said the team was able to control the fire from spreading to nearby houses. The body of the deceased was transported to the morgue by officers of the Ghana Police.
This comes after two children were burned to death in a fire outbreak in the Birim Central Municipality of the Eastern region in May 2024.
