In Wassa Amenfi East Municipal, gold buyers launched the Wassa Japa Gold Buyers Association (WAJAGBA) to promote fair trade, ensure transaction safety, and advocate for buyers' interests. The association, led by Mr. Collins and chaired by Nana Armah, seeks to address industry issues like scams and unfair prices.
Their objectives include standardized pricing, a verified sellers database, training on gold authentication, and policy advocacy. The launch was attended by traditional leaders, over 100 gold buyers, and local authorities.
WAJAGBA aims to collaborate with various stakeholders to promote sustainable mining practices and positively impact Ghana's gold trade. Vice Chairman Collins Anas Quasi urged government and NGO support.
