Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good have taken their relationship to the next level, officially announcing their engagement at the 2024 EBONY Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles.
The announcement was especially sentimental, as the couple revealed they first met at the same annual event two years ago—inside its unisex bathroom, no less.
Good, dazzling in a sparkly gold dress, proudly showed off her engagement ring while walking the green carpet on Sunday.
“Life is crazy—I’m crying to you—she is the most perfect, beautiful, divine, powerful being that I’ve ever met,” Majors told EBONY magazine during the gala. “The fact that she said, ‘I’m gonna run with you,’ I’m with it. I feel great.”
The EBONY Power 100 Gala, which celebrates Black excellence across industries, proved a fitting stage for the couple’s announcement. Good reflected on the significance of sharing the news there, saying, “This is the event that we met at in the bathrooms.”
The engagement is a bright chapter for Majors, 35, who faced legal and personal challenges earlier this year. He completed a 52-week domestic violence prevention program following a conviction for the assault and harassment of a former girlfriend during a domestic dispute.
Majors, known for his roles in Creed III, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and The Harder They Fall, also faced professional setbacks. His bodybuilding film Magazine Dreams was pulled from Disney’s release schedule last year amid the legal proceedings. However, the movie is now set to premiere in early 2025, according to Briarcliff Entertainment CEO Tom Ortenberg.
Throughout his legal battles, Good has been a steady source of support. The 43-year-old actress, best known for her role in the Prime Video comedy series Harlem, attended court alongside Majors.
Good’s engagement comes two years after her split from Hollywood producer DeVon Franklin. The couple, who coauthored the relationship book The Wait, ended their nine-year marriage in 2021.
With their engagement, Majors and Good are ready to embark on a new journey together. Their love story, which began serendipitously in a unisex bathroom, now serves as a testament to connection, growth, and resilience.
Congratulations to Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good as they celebrate their love on this new chapter of their lives!
